"Chakra" is a Sanscrit word and it means "wheel". Accordingly, the chakra's motion is rotional and continuus and its purpose is to accept, convert and distribute the vital energy.
There are many thousands of these energy centers in our body, but seven of them are the most important, and the well known ones. Each one of them, beyond his interaction with the rest, has also his own separate operation and usefulness.
Each one of them usually is symbolized with a lotus blossom,. The number of each one's petals varies from four, in root chakra, to a thousand, in a crown chakra.

The First energy center or the root chakra

It transports the Universal energy energy in the eartly or, otherwise, in the natural level. It is related with the individual and collective need of a human being for survival. It is the fundamental energy center, the base of all the rests and and the source of our vital power.
The Second energy centre or the sacral chakra

This is the centre of creativity, of primeval sentiments and of the sexual energy. It is related with the sense of unity, the joy of creation and the internal completeness.
The third energy center or the solar plexus chakra

This is the centre of our mightiness. The centre of our personality. It is related with the sense of peacefulness and internal harmony. From this centre becomes the vibrational exchange between us and the rest of the world and here is the point where our reactions get determined.
The fourth energy center or the heart chakra

This chakra is the central of all the chakra system that connects the three lower with the three higher spiritual ones. It is related with the re-establishment of the contact between us and the divine part of our soul and its aim is the achievement of perfect union with the whole Creation through love, which doesn’t has terms and limits.
The fifht energy center or the throat chakra

This is the centre of expression, communication and inspiration. It functions like a bridge between our thoughts and our sentiments. Its purpose is the creative expression through joy, truth, integrity and wisdom.
The sixth energy center or the third eye chakra

Through thiscentre we come in contact with our higher self. In this chakra is found the base of discrimination, memory, will. Its purpose is the achievement of consciousness and the perception that our natural world is not nothing more than a world of phenomena.
The seventh energy center or the crown chakra

It’s the centre through which the person is experienced in unity with the, always present, Creative Source, the centre of complete comprehension and of enlightenment.
